Who You Are…

Are you that ray which calls the dawn?

Or the dew drops on the flowers in my lawn?

Wrapped in brightness, are you the warm sunshine?

Or echoing in the woods, you are that song divine?

I heard a tweet, were that you on my window?

Or trying to wake me up, the sun-ray on my pillow?

Oh! Please tell me, are you the cloud in the hills?

Or the valley of flowers, which looks like frills?

Are you the full moon, shining bright in the snow?

Or whispering in my ears, you’re the breeze in the meadow?

Or are you that bird, flying freely up high?

Glittering like diamond, a star in the sky?

Whatever you are, of this world or another,

With your ethereal charm, there is none other.

So standing awestruck here, I suddenly realize,

It’s not you, my love, but rather my eyes.

I never know why, whenever ‘beauty’ I see,

It’s always ‘you’, that’s found by me.

You’re here; oh!! Yes, you are,

Nothing under the sun can get you far.

My soul and you, just stay along;

And so for you, I never long.

Your smile on my lips, your grief in my heart,

Your tune in my mind, who can get them apart?

When I walk the long boulevard, holding you beside,

The world can see just me, and wonder what I hide.

Your fragrance enfolding me, never goes away,

Some find me silly, when I smile at you,

“In love is she”, being decent, states few.

You may be ‘far’ for the world, but for me,

Still in your twinkling eyes; my universe, I see.

I’ll Smile

I woke up in the morning, gave myself a while,

Looked out of the window, and decided, ‘I’ll smile…’

Hey dear Smile, now I'm placing you on my face,

You can’t leave it now, and there is no ‘in case’.

A smile which is believable, and true indeed,

A smile one can see through, a smile open to read.

You have to be right here, and say ‘Hi’ to all,

Till the twilight stays, and the dark night falls.

Come what may, it won’t take you away,

With this one smile, I’ll care, love and pray.

I’ll laugh away the hurts and cut away the tears,

I’ll smile all the way and forget all my fears.

I’ll dance under the stars, how mystic it would seem,

Find you by my side, I’ll smile in my dreams.

Now I won’t stop smiling, even a single day,

I suppose it’s because you finally came to stay.
